Why We Do What We Do
|
 |
Pet overpopulation is a problem in all communities. Millions of dogs and cats are euthanized across the United States not because they were terminally ill or severely injured, but simply because a home was not available. This cost taxpayers millions of dollars, dollars that could be spent on other programs that could better benefit their communities.

To help combat pet overpopulation in Navarro County, NCARF developed SNAP - the Spay/Neuter Assistance Project. It is a program to assist the residents of Corsicana and Navarro County with the cost of spay or neuter surgeries for their pet when they cannot afford to have the procedure done. Our goal is to reduce the number of homeless and unwanted animals throughout Navarro County.
Since 2004, we have spayed or neutered over 1000 animals through this program. Our efforts have helped significantly reduce the number of animals that the City of Corsicana Animal Shelter is required to admit, care for and euthanize.
If you need help with spay/neuter surgery for your pet, go to our Download Page and get a SNAP application, fill it out and return it to NCARF.
Our SNAP program is funded through grants and private donations. If you would like to help, please send your donation to:

Please write "SNAP Donation" on your check or money order.
***NOTE*** Due to grant restrictions, we are unable to spay or neuter any animal that was adopted from a shelter or rescue group at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
